Be a Hill Seeker

This morning I went for a long run and I was feeling sort of drab. It was early and I wasn't in my groove yet. I was feeling lazy when i came upon a huge hill. I stopped at the bottom of it and contemplated just turning around and running the flat route back to my house because frankly I was feeling lazy and hills are tough. But, i thought to myself , "Screw it, I can do this!" and i ran up it. And when I got to the top I was tired but I felt good, real good because I'd just conquered this massive hill...I felt so good in fact that I turned around and ran up it again, and again, and....yes again. Four times I conquered this hill and despite the fact that my legs were on the verge of collapse and I was wheezing so hard I sounded like an 80 year smoker, I felt great! Like I could overcome anything I wanted to.
Most of us try to avoid hills. But what's so great about flat?? Think about it...flat tires, flat hair, flat returns, and -the ultimate flat- flatlining. Life happens on the hills. They're opportunities to prove to yourself that your stronger that you ever imagined. If you never attempt the ascent, you'll never know the thrill of going down the other side.
